Scleral Lenses
Scleral lenses are large diameter rigid gas permeable lenses that range from 14mm to over 20mm in diameter. They are called “scleral” lenses because they completely vault the cornea and extend onto the sclera (white part of the eye).
Scleral Lenses are more comfortable than corneal lenses and can be used to achieve better vision in patients with corneal conditions like Keratoconus and Pellucid Marginal degeneration. Scleral lenses requires a fitting process to determine the right fit for your eye. Your doctor can help you decide what is the best option for you.
